Dr. Ankit Agarwal graduated with honors from Boston University and Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in radiation oncology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and was selected as Chief Resident in his 4th year of residency. Dr. Agarwal received training in advanced radiation techniques for a variety of benign and malignant conditions.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Agarwal was elected to several national leadership positions in organizations such as the American Medical Association and the American Society for Radiation Oncology. Dr. Agarwal has published extensively, with over 40 peer-reviewed publications in top oncology journals such as JAMA Oncology and the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics.

Dr. Agarwal practiced in Charlotte, NC before returning to his native Bay Area, CA to deliver care to the community he grew up in. He specializes in the treatment of prostate cancer, gynecological cancers, breast cancer, lung cancer, skin cancers, and head and neck cancers.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, traveling, cooking, and hiking in the greater San Francisco Bay Area.


Shahil Mehta, MD

Dr. Shahil Mehta is a dedicated radiation oncologist with a commitment to providing personalized and high-quality care. He treats a diverse range of cancers, including breast, prostate, lung, head and neck, gastrointestinal, non-melanoma skin cancer, and gynecological cancers. Dr. Mehta’s expertise spans several advanced radiation techniques, including 3D-conformal external beam radiation therapy, Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), adaptive radiotherapy, Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), and Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS).

Dr. Mehta’s approach to patient care blends the latest technology with a compassionate understanding of each patient’s individual needs. He creates treatment plans that address both the medical and personal aspects of each patient’s journey. His patient-centered philosophy is central to his practice and drives his commitment to excellence.

He graduated cum laude from Harvard University earning his bachelor’s degree in Evolutionary Biology. Continuing his education, he attended the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he additionally completed a Master’s in Public Health. Dr. Mehta then moved to Los Angeles where he completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Southern California. During his final year, he served as Chief Resident. His training at USC equipped him with a broad foundation in treating various cancers and employing advanced radiation techniques.

Dr. Mehta has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and has presented his work at several medical conferences, further contributing to the advancement of the field. His involvement with the American Society for Radiation Oncology and the American Radium Society reflects his commitment to staying current with advancements in the field.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Mehta enjoys playing tennis, traveling, exploring new cuisines, staying active, and hiking.


John Shumway, MD

John Shumway, MD, received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine before completing his transitional residency year at Mountain View Hospital and his residency in radiation oncology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During his residency, he was selected as chief resident and served on the Radiation Oncology Research Advisory Committee, the Radiation Oncology Residency Program Evaluation Committee, and the Radiation Oncology Quality and Safety Committee.

Dr. Shumway is a member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), the American College of Radiology (ACR), and the American Medical Association (AMA). He has presented at several ASTRO annual meetings and virtual conferences throughout his education and residency. Dr. Shumway has also been published in multiple peer-reviewed publications.

A skilled clinician, Dr. Shumway is experienced in IMRT and 3D-conformal external beam radiation therapy, image-guided radiation therapy, low dose rate prostate brachytherapy, and high dose rate interstitial and intracavitary brachytherapy. In addition to English, he is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
